Overview

The “Ala-Kol Express” is a dynamic three-day journey combining horseback riding, alpine valleys, natural hot springs, and one of the most spectacular high‑altitude lakes in Kyrgyzstan. The route leads through mountain pastures, conifer forests, and dramatic ridgelines, offering unforgettable panoramic views throughout the trip.

Itinerary

Day 1 — Horseback Ride to Altyn Arashan Valley

​

After a short briefing and introduction to the horses, you depart from our horse base and ride through the Kok-Tyz (“Blue Field”) pastures. The trail gradually climbs along the river, passing through conifer forests and wide alpine meadows before opening into the stunning Altyn Arashan Valley.
Riding time: approx. 4 hours
Accommodation: guesthouse or camping near the hot springs

Day 2 — Trek to Ala-Kol Lake via Keldike Valley

​

In the morning, you ride up the Keldike Valley to the foot of the pass. From there, the trail continues on foot: the ascent to Ala-Kol Pass (3850 m) rewards you with breathtaking views of glaciers and surrounding peaks. The descent to Ala-Kol Lake is the highlight of the day. After enjoying the lake, you return along the same route to the hot springs.
Total hiking time: 7–8 hours
Accommodation: guesthouse or camping near the hot springs

Day 3 — Return Ride to Jolgolot Village

​

A relaxed horseback ride back through the Altyn Arashan Valley. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and end the journey at an easy pace.
