Description
🐎 Horse Trek to Ala-Kul Lake — 3-Day Adventure in the Heart of the Tien Shan
Join an unforgettable journey through one of the most scenic mountain routes in Kyrgyzstan. This tour combines high mountain passes, alpine meadows, hot springs, and the legendary turquoise Ala-Kul Lake.
📅 Day 1 — Karakol → Kok-Jaiyk Plateau → Jilandy Pass → Arashan Gorge
The route begins at the Karakol Forestry Enterprise. Following the road toward the ski base, we turn off to the Kok-Jaiyk Plateau and continue through Jilandy Pass toward the Ak-Suu Botanical Garden.
From here we descend into one of the most beautiful valleys in the region — Arashan Gorge, famous for its pine forests, mountain river, and natural hot springs.
Upon arrival at the resort area, you will have time to relax and enjoy a soak in the Altyn Arashan thermal springs, the perfect way to end an active first day.
📅 Day 2 — Arashan → Keldyke Gorge → Ala-Kul Pass (3,600 m) → Ala-Kul Lake
We ascend along the right bank of the Arashan River toward Keldyke Gorge. The trail continues through the upper part of the gorge, offering breathtaking scenery and showcasing the full diversity of the Tien Shan nature:

As we approach Ala-Kul Pass (3,600 m), we dismount and continue the final ascent on foot.
From the pass, a spectacular panorama opens up, revealing Ala-Kul Lake and the majestic surrounding peaks:

🏔 Dzhigit Peak — 5,170 m
🏔 Oguz-Bashi Peak — 5,168 m
After descending from the pass, we set up camp near the lake and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere.
📅 Day 3 — Ala-Kul Lake → Ortok Pass → Ak-Suu Resort
On the final day, we follow an old mountain trail across Ortok Pass, descending gradually through scenic landscapes.
The route passes alpine pastures, forest zones, and rocky slopes. By midday, we arrive at Ak-Suu (Altyn Arashan) Resort, where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer us back to Karakol.
